Recycling
Breckenridge recycles over 350 tons per year, equivalent to saving:
• 3,300 trees from being cut down
• 59 households worth of energy for 1 year
• 403 tons of carbon dioxide and 17 tons of methane (greenhouse gases)

Wake Up Breckenridge
The beginning of the 2007-2008 ski season marked the 5th year of the “Wake Up Breckenridge” promotion. The day before Breckenridge opened for the season, 1,400 reusable corn-based coffee mugs were given out free at Breckenridge coffee shops. The goals of the promotion are to thank the community and reduce waste generated by disposable mugs.

“Cartridges for Kids” Toner Recycling
Breckenridge recycles used toner cartridges by taking the used toners to a local day care facility that receives money for the toners. This program simultaneously helps raise some money for the day care facility and ensures the toners are recycled.
